Exciting Developments
Last week Ben and Jim layed down some tracks for Devils and Blacksheep’s demo cd. After we make them nice and gritty, they’ll be available for your sonic enjoyment.
Jim decided to start working on another crowd pleasin’ cover, “Hotel California” by The Eagles. Yeah, yeah, we know it gets covered more oft than not, but being the creative soul that he is, Jim injects his funky reggae sound while still maintaining the important elements of the song. Especially when Ben adds his tasty drum beats, it’s quite a treat.
So in conclusion, they’re are plenty of things to be looking forward to from the guys, and a couple live shows on the horizon! Stay tuned for more details.
Also, be sure to ask anything that’s on your mind to the very band members themselves by clicking on the Whatchoo wanna know? link at the top of the page. Anything from who inspires them, to if they prefer fruit salad over Doritos is a valid question, so let your imaginations run wild!
Yesterday Jim spent an extra 4 hours at work, got home and started writing a new song in F minor that I promise all of you will love once he gets it polished up to his liking, and then spent some time recording. Thats what I like to call a productive gypsy.
A Good Reason to Embrace Jim’s Less Than Perfect Posture
“My kids are starting to notice I’m a little different from the other dads. “Why don’t you have a straight job like everyone else?” they asked me the other day. I told them this story: In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, “Look at me…I’m tall, and I’m straight, and I’m handsome. Look at you…you’re all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you.” And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, “Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest.” So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.”
